We will examine several aspects involved in studying sums of
coefficients of modular forms, including the classical Gauss circle
problem and the problem of counting lattice points on hyperboloids.
Ultimately we’ll describe recent work on sums of coefficients along
quadratic sequences. I aim for most of this talk to be approachable.
